Favorite Recipes

As I'm getting closer to the birth of Reuben, I'm feeling the need to do some cooking/baking. I've been doing really well w/ making supper and keeping the house most of the way straightened. I'm planning on making bread, rolls, bread sticks, and hamburger buns for the freezer. I decided today that maybe some cookies and muffins would be nice too. I can't have to many (cookies) on hand or I will eat them all. So what are your favorite cookie/muffin recipes? Also any tried and true freezer meals would be great. I know the more I have done the easier it is!

I didn't know you all decided on a name for that little boy soon to come!!!! How exciting!!!! Well I love to do chili and freeze it, really any soup. One thing to keep in mind is you could made up the cookie batter, then put it on a baking sheet (put freezer paper down first then pop it in the freezer for about 1/2 hour or whatever it takes to freeze a bit. Then put the cookie balls into freezer bags and then you can just take them out of the freezer and pop them into the overn whenever you want fresh cookies!!

The name has been a struggle, but I think we finally decided! Thanks for the ideas. I've heard of doing that w/ the cookies, but I've never tried it! I will have to.

I was wondering if you've learned how to defrost bread well? ours is always soggy when it's done!
I agree with Danielle, Soup are the best frozen. we also do "sketty sauce" as Lima calls it too. it does really well.
We do the frozen cookie balls to they work great! and the fun part is that you can have different kinds at the same time.
Have fun getting ready for that Little Blessing.
Let us know when he arrives!

Carra- All I ever do for bread is get it out of the freezer and let it set on the counter. I don't think ours has ever been soggy. I use bread bags that aren't even very thick. I don't know what to tell you???? Is your bread a softer bread? Mine is a firmer bread, I don't know if that would make a difference?

Thanks for the ideas too!
